CustomVue™ Wavefront LASIK—a higher standard
Traditional LASIK procedures are calibrated for your
prescription. CustomVue wavefront LASIK is tailored to
your individual eyes.
The difference is like night and day. Not only will you
be freed from full-time use of eyeglasses or contact
lenses, you will enjoy improved vision quality and a
significant reduction in the incidence of halos and
night glare over standard LASIK.
CustomVue wavefront analysis uses a patented technology,
originally developed to reduce distortions in
high-powered telescopes, to create a custom "map" of
each eye while measuring imperfections 25 times more
precisely than standard methods.
The result is a new level of precision and accuracy: 98% of patients achieve vision of 20/20 or better.
Are you a candidate? Since CustomVue treatment was FDA
approved for treatment of myopia, hyperopia and
astigmatism. 94% of all laser vision correction
candidates have been found to be eligible for the
CustomVue procedure.
A wavefront analysis and mapping of your eyes will
determine if the treatment is right for you. |

What you should know about LASIK and CustomVue™ WaveFront
LASIK
LASIK is the most popular, effective, and advanced method
available for surgical correction of nearsightedness,
farsightedness and astigmatism. Over one million LASIK
procedures have been performed in the United States alone.
Benefits
LASIK surgery can dramatically reduce or even eliminate a
person's dependence on glasses and contact lenses.
Procedure
LASIK surgery takes only a few minutes per eye, and in most
cases can be done on both eyes at the same time. Eye drops
are all that are required for anesthesia.
Recovery
After LASIK, patients usually notice significantly improved
vision immediately. Eye drops are prescribed for use during
the first few days after surgery, and vision usually
stabilizes within several days. Postoperative pain is
usually limited to a scratchy sensation that lasts a few
hours. Most patients return to work within 24 hours.
Contraindications
While serious complications are extremely rare, there are
risks that need to be considered when contemplating any
surgical procedure. Dr. Kraft will take the time to
thoroughly discuss the risks and benefits of the LASIK
procedure with you. He will advise you if you are a good
candidate—or, in rare cases, advise you against the
procedure because of existing eye conditions or other health
problems.
